A forestry bucket truck, or tree truck, features an aerial work platform that helps municipal crews, tree-trimming professionals, and utility companies prune and remove branches and tree limbs. Once they’ve downed the tree debris, workers can feed it into a wood chipper (usually towed behind the truck), which directs the biomass into a tipping chip box mounted on the rear of the truck. This side reach, or horizontal outreach, allows the truck to park on a street or solid surface, away from falling branches.
