It’s a Duraclass 16' square dump body, and the insulation is what keeps hot asphalt from cooling off before it reaches the paver, which makes this a paving truck first and a general dump second. The 16' body holds about 16 cy with 46" sides and a 54" tailgate. The sides and front are 10 ga A10-11 steel on a 10" formed channel longsill with a crossmemberless understructure. The floor is 3/16" AR450 and the tailgate is 3/16" A572 GR50 steel. A telescopic pin-to-pin hoist runs off power take-off hydraulics. The gravity/swing tailgate has an electric/air latch with grease and spreader chains, and a 10" dump apron helps material discharge cleanly. A vinyl electric tarp, a full-width 24" cab shield, center console controls, and an included ladder round out the body. Underneath, the 6x4 Freightliner 114SD Plus has a 20,000 lb front axle, a 46,000 lb Hendrickson HMX EX 460 tandem rear with a driver-controlled locking differential, and a 66,000 lb GVWR. The Cummins X12 makes 500 hp through an Allison 4500 RDS-P, with a Cummins Intebrake, air brakes, an air dryer, and an engine block heater. A 45 ton pintle hitch, 7-way round receptacle, trailer brake controller, and gladhands let it pull a trailer. The cab has an air ride driver seat, heated mirrors, and power windows and locks, and the 90 gal fuel tank covers a full day of hauling.
